About Us |
|
The Central Kitsap Food Bank began as a church pantry in Tracyton, WA in 1989. Moving to its current location next to CK High School in Silverdale in 1992, we became a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. We serve those who live or work in the Central Kitsap School District. We are a local, independent food bank and partner with seven local food banks and several hot meal programs to maximize the generous donations from the community. In 2007, we served 386,000 pounds of food to 15,800 individuals in 4,900 households. In 2007, we became the contact agency for a federal food program called Commodities Supplemental Food Program; as such, we served and/or delivered 30+ pounds of additional food to 275-300 low-income seniors and children each month. We are a United Way of Kitsap County Community Partner.
